The IEMO advocates for Emergency Prevention at international level, promoting the diffusion of a "Culture of Prevention" to be spread at local and international level through relevant international bodies as well as trough associations, academia and civil society organizations, in order to reduce emergency vulnerability and to enhance development

In this respect the Organization has promoted, for the 14 April of 2010, the International "Emergency Prevention Day" with the goal to sensitize citizenship on the important issue of preventing natural and manmade emergencies.
